Hey Guys and Gals,
I'm having trouble starting my 351W. I'm wondering if I have the timimg pointer in the right place. Should be on the passenger side underneath the alternator or on the Driver side near the power steering?

mine on my 74 is on the passenger side IIRC but some years were opposite i think may depend on what year of timing cover and balancer you have? i think the later windsors had it on the driver side...

Passenger side about the 10:00 position. Should be a folded metal pointer that bolts on with two of the timing cover bolts
Unless a really early block/ rotating assembly, which MAY be driver side about 2:00 position which would be a cast pointer

Thank you Guys and Gals. I replaced the timing cover, timing chain with a true double roller timing chain. Replaced the water pump, 4bbl aluminum intake manifold, a hydraulic flat cam, lifters and push rods, and 600cfm holley with vacuum secondaries
