    Posted: 10-June-2020 at 10:34AM
I want to swap out my FMX for an AOD transmission on my 69 Torino Fastback with a 351W. Does anybody know if this will be a direct fit or if I have to make crossmember/flexplate/starter/Kickdown Linkage/Driveshaft Adjustments and if so, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks..Any help is appreciated.

Flexplate and starter should be good.
Kickdown goes away, AOD uses a TV cable.
Driveshaft YOKE should fit, ask California Johnny about length, Crossmember and trans mount.

That's good news. Thank you. Just need to figure out (when I get there) how to set the correct pressure setting. I've heard of transmissions burning up if it's not set right. I will get a Lokar TV cable as well.
I'm pulling an AOD off an 85 F-150 with a 5.0 from a local boneyard. Any suggestions on a rebuild kit for the AOD?

i had mine rebuilt by a buddy that owns a local shop. the lokar cable will come with directions on the location of the pressure port to remove the plug, you can use an oil pressure gauge with the long hose to lay the gauge up on the intake so you can read it while making the adjustments it should also come with the gap tool to set the pressure and how to do it...
