Hello!
I'm the proud new owner of a '69 Torino GT Fastback with a 351/4 speed. I've got some extra parts and am looking for some parts, so that's why I'm here! I hope to learn a lot and be driving the Torino soon!

Welcome to the best forum that there is on loo ur cars. The folks (me sometimes) here are nothing but helpful.
Sounds like a nice rude. When you get upgraded please post some pics. Troy Lemming may habe some parts but I am not sure. There are some extremely knowledgeable and talented people here and I have remembered quite a bit of what was lost over the last three decades since I joined. Without the help I would still be looking for a car or staring at one with my thumb you know where.

Thank you Dave, I do have a few questions. It's a 351/4 speed car but there is no center console. Did they have a center console or just a shifter boot? It has a red interior and I need door panels. I've purchased new carpet and headliner for it, will be painting it this winter, and I hope to have it on the road next year.

I might have a door interior yet, but I’m not sure. As far as console.... as far as I recall, the center console was found with automatic floor shift, I have seen some with stick shift. I have seen none with column shift. The center console was not in cars with a bench seat. Last, the center console (iirc) was shared by 1968-1971 models.
They are quite pricey if you even come across one.....

I too have a '69 351w, so happy to help if I can. The console was a $53.82 option for bucket seat cars in '69. Bucket seats were a $120.59 option. Console could be had with floor and even column shift. The column shift filler plates are super hard to find and the 4 speed plates are very pricy for a good one. Mine is the more common floor auto (smaller opening).

Hi Shufitz, Beautiful car! Did you restore the whole thing? I need to source some parts so I’d like to pick your brain if you know resources(?)
I recently got my 1969 Ranchero GT with 390 motor & automatic transmission. I’m trying to put back some things that were changed from how came originally. I need a center console housing like your car has -not sure if you had it made somewhere? I have my metal top plate and ash tray and the pad -like yours. I found Ecklers used to sell a remade fiberglass housing but not anymore. Mine has bucket seats like yours-I’m hoping you may know another source to find the center console housing. Many Thanks!

Hi Debbie, thanks for the kind words on my car. It's mostly original, with one re-paint in 2015 just before I acquired it with 58.7K miles. The PO had it painted and got it running after a 28-year slumber in an old car dealership. It had some hidden floor rust that we repaired with metal, and I have done maintenance/upgrades on it since then as most parts were still assembly line. Re-build carb/new starter/motor mounts/water pump/fuel pump/new belts & hoses/detailing/rebuilt front end/added dual ex/factory tach/etc. Showing 66.4K miles as of a drive yesterday.
I may have a line on a black console from a guy in Chicago, I can reach out if to him if you'd like, but shipping could get expensive. Here's a link to a thread I had tracking it torinocobra.com after I got it on e-bay. ![]() I found this site on the net after I got the car (the key chain I got with car was from Grob Auto Sales: Edited by schufitz - 27-October-2025 at 4:04AM |

Hi, Thank you! I would appreciate it if you could contact them about the black center console. Black is perfect, my interior is red and black and I have bought an aftermarket black armrest pad already, I will need a (piano?) hinge for it still. I have to guesstimate a measurement since I can’t find any pecs in my books it’s around 37” long?
Because someone told me I may have to get one laserprinted if I can’t find one, but I would need all the specs to do that. I doubt that would be cheap either and I have no clue about “ lazer printing” and how to find someone to do that. Maybe if all else fails I ask you for measurements of yours. I would prefer to just find one if your contact will sell me theirs would be amazing!! Ecklers was not cheap either so I’m preparing for that. Thanks for the warning. I’m saving to get it :-) Thanks for getting back with a lead!!

Ok Thanks for asking. Would it be possible for you to open your ashtray and take a picture for me what the receiver/housing looks like? I think this one is right but I was hoping to confirm it is before I buy it off eBay. I hope the picture will show that I will attach here. Thanks if you are willing.
