The April 2022 Car of the Month is new member "78FordLtd2 " (Cody's) 1978 Ford LTD II Sport.

This is our fist LTD II to receive the Ride of the Month recognition, and it is well deserving being the very "70's cool" LTD with the Sports Touring Package. Cody's 78 LTD II  Sport is an exceptionally well cared for and maintained survivor.  It is powered by a 351M and it has a floor shifted C4 transmission.  It is a well optioned car with bucket seats, console with floor shift, gauge package, power windows, Magnum 500 wheels and cruise control.  His sport is white and with the red stripe kit and has an immaculate red interior.

Cody says  "It's not fast, but it's a great Blvd Cruiser. Out of all the vehicles I've owned, I have enjoyed this one the most (except the gas mileage, lol!)."

Here the photo thread on his car:

Here are some pics of Cody's car:

The May 2022 Car of the Month is  "Montego01" (Scott's) 1972 Mercury Montego GT.

This is our fist Montego to receive the Ride of the Month recognition, and it is well deserving being the a meticulously restored "N" Code Montego GT.  The car was found in original and solid condition but it was well worn.  Along with the 429 engine, it had a C6 automatic, air conditioning, bucket seats, console, gauge package and rim blow steering wheel.  Scott completed a comprehensive frame off restoration of his Big Block Montego which included some minor upgrades to suspension and wheels.

He also upgraded the 429 to a stroked to 521.  The engine build included the original D1VE block and a 521 stroker kit (Eagle crank, Eagle rods, Mahle pistons, rings). He used Edelbrock RPM heads, and a special grind camshaft by Randy (460 forum). He came up with the specs and Lunati ground it.  It was ifnished off with a Torker II manifold, PRE 1.8:1 roller rockers, Pertronix Distributor, Ford Racing oil pan, PRW alum water pump, and ARP crank, rod and head bolts.

I believe Scott sold his car which is why he hasn't been active on the forum for sometime. For some of the newer members here you may not have seen Scott's project thread. It is a worthy read and details all his fine craftsmanship that went into this car.

Here are some pics of Scott's Montego:

Super nice, I love it. Those were extremely rare, the high trim level 72 Montego models. I never saw one in person, those are rare treasures we appreciate today.
