Vince,
Thank you so much for choosing my Ranchero for this month's featured ride, greatly appreciated, makes all the hard work that it took to get it in this condition and all the work involved to continue keeping it that way worth all the blood, sweat and of course tears. The fist pic really tugged at my heart, it was taken when I met up with my Gran Torino friends while attending the '15 Moonshine Festival in Dawsonville, Ga. It was my first time going and I was accompanied by my late son Jarrett who passed in late '19. In '11 at 12 years old, Jarrett lit the fire within me when the project was sitting/stalled, I asked him if he would help me finish our Ranchero, what you see is our finished project. In the summer of '15 Jarrett was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, it scared all our family, I made the decision then that we would attend the festival in October, thanks goes out my good friend Andy (Andrewok1) for helping us to attend. Jarrett enjoyed the cruise-ins we attended, hearing what people said about it and all the thumbs ups' we received every time we took it for a spin. I told him that was from all his help. Of course he also liked when we "accidently" burned the tires a time or two. Really miss my son, but I do have so many good memories of him being by my side and us enjoying so many things together. Vince, thank you once again, this really has brightened my day and allowed me to smile even while shedding a tear.
Sorry for the size

You are very welcome Todd, and thanks for the kind words in return. I am happy to hear this brightened your day.  That Ranchero isn't just an awesome street machine, but it is a family heirloom, loaded with the memories like the ones your shared.

Vince,
You're so correct about the family heirloom reference! I bought this from my father in '89 and hopefully never have to sell it. My father passed away on Dec. 24th 2020, been a really tough 2 years for us, my family's Decembers will never be the same. Thank you once again for the "Ride of the Month Award". Todd

Congratulations Todd, that is one sweet Ranchero! If I would have went to Dawsonville that year, I could have seen it in person.

The November 2021 Ride of the Month is long time member "Timustbe" Tim's' 1972 Ford Gran Torino Sport fastback.

Tim's 1972 GTS is equipped with a Q-Code 351-CJ, and a C6 transmission.  It has Trick Flow heads, a Holley 770 cfm double pumper, Edelbrock air gap intake manifold. The block has been bored .030 over, and is equipped with scat pistons.

Tim used to own a 1972 Torino in 1993 but had to sell it due to being in the army.  He bought this Torino in 2018 and has been improving it ever since.  Lately Tim has been working on rewiring his whole car.  He even took the Torino to Hawaii when he moved from Virginia, surely making it one of the few if only 1972 GTS's there.

Here is Tim's Project thread:

Here are some pictures of Tim's car:

Thank you all for this honor.  She is rough but she has always been the car I've wanted since a GT and Boss 302 wouldn't be daily drivers.  To be chosen as the Torino of the month has made the journey that much more worth it.

The December 2021 Car of the Month is new member "DJsTorino " DJ's 1972 Ford Gran Torino

This '72 Gran Torino 2-door hardtop is an original survivor.  DJ is the second owner and has owned it 15 years. Its has original paint and interior and he enjoyed it enjoyed it as is during his ownership.  However, DJ reports that he has decided to do a major overhaul as the paint is starting to fail, the vinyl top needs pulled and some rust repair.  He also needs to pull the engine and trans (351W/C6) and re-seal them.

Plans are to ditch th C6 for a TKX, give the 351 a little more pep and redoing the suspension so it can handle better The goal is to have the car appear to be something built in period.

We look forward to seeing this project getting built.  Check out DJ's project thread here:
