The January 2022 Car of the Month is member "Dan0R30" Dan's 1970 Ford Torino.
Dan's 1970 Torino is a base level Torino 2-door hardtop (non-fastback). It was equipped with a 351C M-Code engine originally rated at 300 hp (gross), and FMX transmission and a 9" rear with 3.00:1 gears. Dan originally planned to swap a 429 in place of the 351C, but after reconsidered after discussion with GTS.org members. Now his is in the midst of building a very potent Cleveland to power his Torino. Dan's car is an ongoing project and besides the engine work, he has done some body repairs. Dan has put the project on hold for a bit, but let's hope he can get back at working on the Torino soon. Check out his project thread which details his repairs and has some top notch Cleveland engine discussion: Here are some pics of his car: Edited by 72FordGTS - 02-January-2022 at 12:32PM |

Yeah, It's a Hybrid...It burns gas and tires. No matter how good she looks, somebody, somewhere, is tired of her sh*t. Beauty is skin deep, ugliness goes clear to the bone. |

The February 2022 Car of the Month is member "AUS GTS" (Alan's) 1973 Ford Gran Torino Sport fastback.
Alan's 1973 GTS fastback is a 1-owner Q-Code automatic car all the way down under in Austrailia. When he purchased the Torino, it had 41,000 original miles and was stock except for an Edelbrock 600cfm carburetor and intake manifold. The Torino was original sold in Hickory North Carolina by Armstrong Ford. This Blue Glow 1973 Torino was optioned with bucket seats, console with floor shift, Magnum 500 wheels with RWL G70-14 tires, Power Steering, Air Conditioning, tinted glass and bumper guards. Alan replaced the 14" Magnum 500 wheels with 15" Street Pro wheels. He also replaced the springs and shocks with custom coils and Koni red shocks. Here is a thread on his car: Here are some pics of his car: Edited by 72FordGTS - 05-February-2022 at 3:11AM |

Hey, many thanks all.... was lucky to find it, especially being as i'm in Aus.
Although believe it or not, there is another 73 Q code here in South Aus. that i test drove a few weeks before this one came up freshly imported in Melbourne. Have since met the guy that bought it & he frequents some of Cars & Coffee meets i do. He wants to do photo shoot of them together, so will put pics up sometime.....
