The 429/460 used a different shroud.  I thought it was repoped for a while??  Not sure off the top of my head if the Lincoln Mark V (or even Mark IV) shroud would work, since they were mostly Big Block.

I think, but not sure they do? Suspension parts yes, can’t see why a shroud would be different?

A 429-460 is so much closer to the radiator, if a small block or M-series shroud is used, the fan blades would be too far inside the shroud to be 100% effective. The engine side of the fan shroud edge  "should" be on the same plane as the center of the fan blades(or at most just at the rear edge of fan blades) once installed to be most effective.

How close would a late Crown Vic fan shroud be to fitting the 70's Fords? Those from the CV have an electric fan inside them along with a mechanical(thermostatic) fan. If they would fit, those might be a stock looking alternative.

Mark IV, V should work, Same basic chassis, 2 door cars on the 4-door wheelbase.

I reused my 400’s shroud when I swapped in my 429 20 years ago. Never had any heating issues
