I had to drill out the other side today. Bolt snapped after heating, whacking, drenching. No worries.

Yes….tapping…..what measurement are the studs? 5/8? I will try and tap for that.

I doubt you will be satisfied with threads tapped into a cast iron manifold, that might be a last resort I'd consider.

Today is the day, where I will attempt to remove the 3 snapped bolts. 2 manifold bolts and 1 engine mount bolt. Should be fun.
I dont have any welding equipment, so I will drill and use easy out.

while you have the pan off, very important!, change the connecting rod nuts

they're garbage, the threads fracture out under stress

all you have to do is remove, replace, torque to spec 40-45 lb-ft IIRC

16 pieces required

Timing chain has to go as well as a new oil pump. No going back now as you are in it to win it.

 do you have an acetylene torch?  heat the bolt till its starting to get a spot of orange than they come outWink
