I had some time to watch the videos, not too bad.  It's nice to see an old Torino get some positive coverage.  He clearly loves the car.  I personally don't mind a scoop on a '73.  I actually think the Boss 429 style scoop looks better on a '73 than a '72 style scoop.  It seems to match the blunt front end better.

I am curious on the 450 carb too?  That would offer nothing over the stock 2100.  That Holley 2-bbl that was on there was defintely smaller than the original 2100.  When my '72 400 was stock I did a 4bbl swap like him, but used a Holley 670.  It really woke up the engine on the high end, pulled very nicely for a stock low compression engine.

I agree on the air shocks.  He also needs to get some stiffer springs or sway bars on that beast.

Way undersized IMO. Factory 400 carbs were typically 500CFM?

I know there were factory carbs for 400 V8's that were actually a tick bigger.

I ran an Edelbrock 1405 A 600CFM performer carb on my '79 F150 4x4 for years and I hated the start up over the factory carb, but driving, it was miles better with the 4 barrel carb. I also had swapped to a used Torker intake so on the stock 400, it was OK for how the truck was.

I'm curious about his 450 CFM carb for his 400 V8. I have a 600 CFM on my 351C with 2V heads. I guess if you're not going past 4,000 RPM, it would flow enough.
1972 Gran Torino station wagon, light blue, 351C 2V, prior owner upgraded to 4V (2V heads), originally had a C4 but prior owner changed to C6 for some reason.

Guy  is nice and down to earth...but a few things, like the air shocks...needs to learn not to tie the lines to a single tee fitting. Jim Williams wrecked his S&H car that way.

I would never have a scoop on a 73. The front looks sweet without adding one of any type whether grafting a 72 or a Torino like he has. But to each their own
