if an S-10 will swap, why not a Ranger?

and if a Ranger, why not a Crown Vic? (even if you have to adjust the wheelbase)

i'd imagine the 1992 -2002's are about the same except for the front rails where the sub bolts up. flange to flange width / wheel offset also changed 2002 / 2003 with 02 being 6mm offset and 2003 going to around 50-54mm

rotors & calipers change at that model year break too, probably the whole suspension

Wheels

All panthers use a 5x4.5" bolt pattern, and a ~70.5mm hub centerbore

92-02:

All '92-'97s require 15" wheels minimum to clear the front calipers. 'All 98+ require at least a 16" wheel to clear their larger front dual piston calipers. (15" will clear in the rear, however)
- There have been mentions of people grinding down their 98-02 fronts calipers to allow use of 15" wheels. I do not recommend this.
All '98+ use 16" wheels as standard equipment, 17" if it was a CV Sport (and later Town Cars and 18" for Marauder)
-97s received 15" steel wheels as standard equipment on base models, 15" alloys on upper models and 16" alloys on 93+ HPPs
All of the 16" and 17" rims are 7" in width, the 15" wheels are 6.5" in width however I have heard the 'Police' 15" steel wheels may be 7" The primary difference between CVPI and 'base' -'97 15" steel wheels is the police wheels can accept 'dog dish' center caps.
The offset for all -02 is ~6mm (depending on rim model), though a 0mm offset can be used without any trouble provided you keep the width reasonable.

03+

All came with at least 16" wheels, 17" for LX Sport. '03+ Town Cars and 18" for Marauders. All can use the 16" rims, however.
The width is again 7", Though the Marauder's are 8" to run larger width tires
The offset is high, ~50mm *Though anything in the ~40-~50mm range is acceptable.

I have a spare 5.4 sitting in my garage and one of the members mentioned having a 2007 CVPI that he'd sell me. Ranger chassis would be fine, but more expensive to drop. I would really like to stay with the Ford drivetrains, as I have plenty of spares.

Can you find a Diplomat/Fury/Aspen/Volare around you? Front K-member has everything you need in one package. Integrated power steering, disc brakes, (semi-modern) torsion bar suspension with sway bars and "Cop Car" parts availability, Ackerman and antidive all worked out. They go on the later Scouts fairly easily, should be substantially the same.

	I ended up with a 1966 International shortbed truck that came from the original owner. Since it is a 345, 4 speed with a positive traction, it would be a great builder. A Ford 302 will bolt up to the T-19 using a SBF bellhousing. Even has the Ford 5 X 4.5 bolt pattern on the wheels. However, I'd like to go the Ford CVPI route with this one. Has anyone had any experience with these at all concerning frame swaps? Goal is to fix the bump on the left front and either leave the original paint and patina or go jet black.

	Farmtruck's Grandaddy? i'll bet $2, out of total production, you can count the number of those that have been frame swapped on one hand and any owners still around are in the rest home what year CVPI frame? dimensions are available, pretty sure this should be 2003+ with the alloy front sub

	At this point, I am not picky. The idler arm was $175 plus shipping - and that was only available from one source. Obviously, I cannot spend loads of money on this, so a frame swap would be preferable. Someone told me an S-10 frame will swap, but it is hard to find even basic info on these trucks. They are built out of thick steel, though! I doubt there is another like this within 200 miles.
