Here’s my projectwhen I stumbled across it. Where it sat since 1976. No motor and rear end. Floor is gone and nose is rusted and damaged. Took a day to get out of the woods. Originally a 351w 4v,ac,auto. Last motor was a 390 that ate a rod when my father in law was street racing. Currently I have a 351w out of a junk ranchero and just rebuilt my Toploader. Bought all my sheetmetal to replace floor and cowl panels. Work hasn’t really started as we have a baby and time is not on my side.

Great looking Torino - should be an awesome project! You might want to check out CobraJoe's build project, as he has put a ton of work into his beautiful 1968 GT, so it might help you on your journey. |

You and I are in a similar position, although I'm a little ahead of you. I'm about 3/4 of the way finished with floor pans.

Looks like a great project! Take your time. The great thing about kids and other distractions is that they help you cherish the time on the car and force the time to do it right; as well as give you something to look forward to away from the project!

Very nice Chris, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing this go together! Should be a beautiful car when she's finished.
There's plenty of knowledge here to get you through this project.

Thanks. At this point my goal is to refresh the 351w and make it a safe driver sporting the original faded paint since the main exterior body is pretty solid. I would like to mimic the nascar at look by running wide tires in all corners and lowering it. The fenders are toast so I don’t mind cutting and will rework rear wheel opening to accommodate the larger tires. Maybe one day I can put a motor together that will fit that look. My father in law has an old Georgia highway patrol car with a 428 interceptor I may be able to acquire so that would be best case. Time will tell.
