Does anyone know the weight of an all cast iron 351C? What would the weight be of an all cast iron 400?
Thanks |

Engine Weight and Dimension Comparison
-------------------------------------- The following numbers come from an early Ford catalog and are for "typical" engines. The dimensions include such things as air cleaners, oil filters, water pump fan, etc., but not bellhousings. Thanks, what I was really looking for was the weight difference between a 351C and a 400. From your data it looks like about 25 lbs.

Yup. And about a +3.5lb difference for 4V heads. I imagine intakes/exhaust or headers would make slight differences, too. Either way, a 302 definitely weighs less than either but won't have the grunt.

At least 1/2 of the weight difference between the 351c and the 351m/400 is in the rotating assembly due to counterbalancing the long rods/taller pistons. P~
