I'm converting from column shift to floor shift (C6 auto). I also converted the steering column to a floor shift column. So now I need the harness piece that connects the floor shifter to the ignition switch wiring. The ignition switch has two separate connectors that plug into it. I presume, with the new floor shifter, that you don't plug the second harness into the ignition switch, it should connect directly to the new floor shifter harness. The switch unit in the floor shifter has both the neutral start circuit and the backup lamp circuit (plus a wire for the illumination bulb). Is this correct ? Or, are there two different ignition switches, one for column shift and one for floor shift ? It appears that the floor shift harness would need a special/unique connector with male terminals to connect to the main harness ignition connector (female). Or, what am I missing ? |

Floor shift modes have a key release button on the side that needs to be pressed in order for the key to fully rotate to the "locked" position. These columns are also non-tilt. I am not sure if the switch itself is different from each other because of this. I have looked into replacement parts and...only one switch is listed and one ignition key tumbler set. It appears to me that it doesn't matter.

I believe the floor shift only has lights wired. The column has a collar that is rotated via a linkage to the transmission. Memory is a bit faded but putting it out there.
