It shows the same one as a match for 1972 as well as 1976. I thought there were changes made during that run such that the studs from one year won't all go through the holes on another year.
1972 Gran Torino station wagon, light blue, 351C 2V, prior owner upgraded to 4V (2V heads), originally had a C4 but prior owner changed to C6 for some reason.

I ordered one on Tuesday, it'll be here (England) on Friday apparently. If it doesn't line up, I'll just get the drill out.
If it really doesn't fit, I'll just swap insides over. Smile

It arrived, but looks a bit different. The front half of the booster is all uniform in appearance, whereas the original has the flat areas. Will measure it and have a proper comparison when I get home later.

Keep us posted if it works.  If you have the opportunity, take some side by side pics.

The part is quite wrong.......
Only 9 inch diameter, and the studs are in completely the wrong place too, far too close together.
Have emailed them for a replacement, as I'm not sure if it is just a misboxed part.

Apparently mine won't be here until Tuesday now. 🤞
Was the box marked correctly (part #)? Warehouse mistake possibly?

Box part no. matched the part on their site. Picture on the site didn't match the part in the box at all though.
Friday next week is the delivery day for the replacement.

To summarise, they have cancelled and refunded me. I think there was a stock mess up as they now say they have none.
Not surprised really.

Only real option now is a $350 rebuild kit from Harman.
That's posted to UK with tax etc, more than double the Centric and I'll be doing the work!
Stupid American cars...........LOL

I don't hate it. Well, upon initial inspection the firewall side dosen't look bad, hopefully I can get a chance to swap it out this weekend.

On another note, any idea why it's turning my pictures 90* when I upload from my phone. Some do and some don't.

Looks like the same one I was sent. Firewall studs are too close together widthwise, and passenger side are too high up. Can't even swap the insides over as it's only 9 inch diameter.

Ooooof...
Yeah, that's a huge difference, not even remotely close seeing them side by side...    what is that even supposed to fit?    Sooo close, yet sooo wrong, all at the same time... 🤔🤯😐

So I went down the rabbit hole last night... Plenty of how to vids for diy-ing it on YouTube. Here's the kit you would need to do it yourself.

That's the best one I found previously. Works out at around $350 delivered to me here in England.
May be my only option, and it'll have to wait a little while!

This is interesting, my only question is, are there not special tools to separate the two halves of the brake booster ???
If this  is truely a diy kinda thing I’m suprised I haven’t seen more people doing it . FYI. , never heard of anyone doing it !!
But very interested to learn !!

I was lucky , I got my request filled at Rock Auto within 5-6 weeks of putting in the request !! ( Mercury 1975 Montego )
And it was a spot on replacement. I’ve never had anything but really good results/ service from Rock Auto over the many years I’ve been ordering from them . I ran out of room for the magnets they send with every order !!!

Google and YouTube are your friend, it is absolutely possible to do yourself, there are a few key tricks so that you don't mess anything up, but beyond that. The biggest part was finding the correct "kit" other than that, it's just metal and plastic and rubber, as long as you have a rebuildable core... (one of mine had an engine compartment fire, but I have a donor parts car (rubber and wiring, ect), so problem solved...
