Anyone know what the backspace dimension is for original steel wheel 14x7’s (with hubcaps)?
Was it 4”?

Are you sure they are 14x7? The parts catalog only lists 14x6. The 6" wide wheels usually had a 4" backspace, the 7" was 4.25". They don't list a 14x7 until 1970.

I’ve read a few articles about 68 and 69 Torino’s and the wheels were listed as 14x7

As I said, the Fords parts catalog does not list any 14x7 wheels. I would think it's a pretty reliable source.
