Random finds on youtube.
Not exactly liking how the dummy eats the dash in this... Now, in searching for other vintage Ford crash footage, seemed not much out there. Still, I find the infamous Pinto fireball crash stuff... Now, what would the chanced of a Torino being taken out in this manor, regardless of year? {I'm thinking myself, more of a nightmare for the older unibody cars myself} Getting to the last of our full-frame Brethren, things have come a long way: Still trying to find more crash test footage.

Uhhh. Stupid movie crash scene with an Elite.
Note, only messed up the right front a bit yet slammed a car a ways... |

From what I recall reading, that Pinto crash was staged.

If memory serves, the shoulder straps aren’t retractable on the 75, so did they lash him in properly? One would think so anyway. Face plant – just add dirt |

Ump Paul.not quite sure what you mean by that.Like most problems with ford vehicles, they didn't look into things untill they were a problem.so yes this probably was done after several serious accidents.there was a recall that came from this testing.

Yeah, it was 60 minutes or something like that. I think they ended up using model rocket engines to ignite the gas after several failed attempts.
Same deal on the explorer roll over deal. Totally staged, took several takes to get it to go and everyone cheered....indicating that it was their objective. Motor trend later showed a front tire blowing while the driver was no-hands and nothing happened.

That's what it was. I almost picked up a Pinto recently, but it had the requisite New England rot on the quarters, rear wheel wells, and rockers, and I don't feel like surgery much these days.
