Hello all, I was in the middle of pulling out my A/C controls to go through them and fix them and my hand bumped the already dangeling hood release handle and it literally fell off.

Does anyone have a complete hood release cable with the handle for a 1973 gran torino sport they are willing to sell?

Thank you, -Nick B

Well, I've got to get back to work. When I stop rowing, the slave ship just goes in circles.

An option I thought of doing if/when my 45+ year old cable fails, use a 50lb electric "door popper" like one for shaved door handles-I already have those and still use the originals I installed back in 1992, so longevity seems to be good. Just one wire to run from a momentary push button somewhere concealed like under the dash, or on the left hand side of the cigarette lighter/ash tray "pocket" so when the tray is closed you don't see it. Just another option

Hey Nick, I pulled a 73-74 hood release cable from storage. Not perfect but it's usable.

The part the bolts to the A pillar broke but the section that actually bolts to the pillar itself is usable. Not sure if you could epoxy glue back together. Handle/cable still slide ok, but I'd probably try to inject some graphite lube meant for doing key locks to aide a bit in slide action.

Not sure if you posted up in any of the Facebook Torino groups?

Not sure where you are located but I'd take $10 for this plus the shipping.

Ok. Shoot me a message here and we can get things sorted out.

I’m out in Kansas, but just need to get a box to ship it.
