Could someone tell me if the trans brace should have the round holes or the slotted holes towards the drivers side. The brace will bolt in either way and I can't remember how I took it out 4 years ago!

If you clean it off completely, there should actually be the an arrow or the word "FRONT" stamped on it.. I can't actually remember which way mine is on there, but I do remember after a hour of cleaning, I found the stamping...
