I recently purchased a Quick Jack car lift and wanted to share my experience. Supplier: Quick Jack (part of Bendpak, known for industrial lifts) Website: https://www.quickjack.com Overall, I have been really pleased with the purchase and it has worked great for me. I purchased the unit to get under the vehicle easier so I can do routine maintenance and do restoration items. I was also looking for something I could store in my garage easily yet provide the high level of safety when working under the vehicle.
The units do cost a bit and took a little bit of time to setup, but for the quality and the safety aspect I think they are worth the investment. They do offer sales several times during the year. a. Lifts are made of steel. Very durable. b. Motor. The motor that lifts the jacks is sturdy and leverages hydraulics to lift the vehicle. c. 1 button control - up & down. Simple but effective design to lift the vehicle. d. Quick connect - no leak fittings. The fittings provide quick connect / disconnect, makes it easy to store the actual lifts/jacks separately from the motor. e. Lifting our Torinos. I have a '73 Ford Gran Torino and found that the Quick Jack lifted the vehicle with no issue. I was considering a set, but when they told me my 4x4 F250 Superduty was too heavy, I decided to no buy.
Nice review! Is that the highest they go? I'me curious on the contact points you are using, if on the front boxes of the frame under the firewall, and the lower control arm pockets out back? Can you post some pictures of the front and rear clearances once the car is all the way up? I'm curious how much space to get under a Torino.

Awesome write up. How was the initial set up? any tips or quirks you noted during the purchase and setup? how were they shipped?
I have had these and other brands in a "cart" several times over the past 3 or 4 years, but there was always that one review that made me shy away. |

I wanted to answer your questions, so I lifted the Torino when I got home from work this evening. Time-wise, from moving the lift, positioning it under the vehicle, and "lift-off" was 3 minutes 5 seconds. Q: Trucks A: I bought the truck lifting adapter. I'll try it out soon and will let you know! Q: Setup A: I am better with computers than autos, so I really took my time and followed the directions line-by-line. The only issue I encountered was bleeding the lines, the system uses hydraulic fluid and you need to remove the air. You have to loosen the lock nut very carefully to only release the air inside the lines. Q: Shipping A: I opted to have them ship to a freight forwarder as it was a little cheaper, but if I bought it again I would have just shipped it to my home. It comes in 3 boxes (1 for each lift, and 1 for the motor/hydraulic lines, lifting blocks etc). The jacks are very heavy (110+ pounds), I lifted them myself but should have waiting for my boys to come home. Q: Lifting height (upper position) A: Lifting height - it varies by the blocks you use, but the manual states below: - With 2" block: 21.5" (546 mm) - With 3" block: 22.5" (572 mm) - Max. height: 24.5" (622 mm) |

Q: Shipping / Packaging A: Boxes #1 and #2. The lifts are about 112 pounds each, they come packaged in a cardboard box but inside they are wrapped with plywood above / below to make the box sturdy and also padding inside. The lifts were shipped on top of a wooden crate, also. I picked up from a freight forwarder and they used a fork lift to place inside my truck bed. Box #3 is the motor, it is also packaged really good for each component.

Thanks for taking the time to write this up Chris. Definitely let me know how it works for a half-ton truck. I'd consider one only if it works okay with a half-ton. I am curious how high it will lift a truck off the ground with the adapters.

Vince, It's been a busy couple of weeks, I went on a canoe trip with my younger son. I lifted my truck today. The QuickJack uses truck adapters that are made of heavy steel. My garage door opener was in the way from lifting it to the second lock-level, but the first lock-level (~24") provided clearance to get a creeper under the truck with no issue. |

Don, Thanks. They are certified automotive lifts and easy to leverage and store when not needed. With the price of oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes increasing, the cost will pay for itself over time. Plus it will let me get under the vehicle safely. For the trucks, I have a GMC Sierra 1500 and it worked good - I'll use it for tire rotations, oil changes, etc. When I looked at the lifting capacity, they're not certified for the larger trucks' weight like the GMC 2500 or 3500. Thank you very much for taking the time to take these pics Chris! It looks like it works well for modern trucks too then, which is what I'd like to use it for in my garage. I have a 4 post lift, but my truck is too tall and wide for it. This would be a better solution than just using a jack and stands. At least my garage with 12 foot ceilings should be able to lift a truck up to max height based on your pics. Thank you again!

Nicely done. On a half ton truck, let's be honest, our Torinos are the same as a half ton F series from the 80's-90's LOL
Seeing it pick up that GMC, looks pretty solid. I was told on a 3/4-1 ton Superduty it's an absolute no-go. But understandable as you honestly need a 9,000-10,000 pound lift. To this day...I still recall backing 2021 having my Superduty on a 2 post service lift at a Ford dealer, front end needed a tie rod and alignment (Thanks Illinois for your splendidly horrible interstates!) The fact I watched my 2015 6.2 gas V8 Superduty long bed supercab 3/4 ton 4x4 twist on a 9K lift was...uncomfortable. Told the tech "dude did you happen to notice my truck twisting your lift? May want to check the anchor bolts and get this lift checked out...

Eliteman76 - Agree, these lifts are not rated for the larger trucks. BendPak owns the QuickJack product/company, you'd move into one of the BendPak larger capacity lifts for a larger truck. Thanks, Chris

How strong were the dealer one post lifts? I worked at several dealers that used those, and used them for a while doing my work back then in the late 80's.
