Bench Press 6 Tons?

   I got myself a press for Christmas, and as "I am into the conservation of personal finance" (cheap) I bought a 3 foot tall 6 ton rating one for around 100.00 from Ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/317666571679I have used it to press a couple of junk pistons off their rods and I found that the 302 rods won't fit my jig on the press with rod bolts installed because the distance between the center of the press and the side beam is too narrow. If the rod bolts are removed there is no problem. With a 351W rod, the rod bolts fit around the support beam and therefore I can press those piston pins successfully without removing the bolts and without damage to the piston.
I also pressed a pinion bearing onto a .620 gear I'm building for the stock car along with the races in the pinion carrier. Worked like a champ for all of that.
I expect it would be a boon for pressing ball joints, and I plan to experience that with my 03 F150 as soon as the weather warms up some, or I make space in my garage.

I recommend this press for weekend warriors like myself.

	Here's a jig I made to fit this small press to press piston pins out without damaging the pistons. I used some channel iron I had around, a hand drill, a welder, and a die grinder. I repaired the jig using the welder and die grinder. I took no pictures but I had cut the gap where the pin fits a bit too wide for the rod end. This error can be seen in the picture above. I pressed some Lean burnt and detonation damaged pistons off without any damage to the sides or skirts. Then I pressed their undamaged sisters off without damage. Now I'm ready to play with real parts I plan to use, or re-use. Anyone in the market for 8 351W rods and 4 used .060 dished pistons out of an early '90s Fi50?
