Have a 73 GTSS and need to replace the drivers arm rest. I see there is one screw at the top for removal but apparently there is something else holding it in place. Do you have to take the whole door panel off the remove it? Any help will be great, thanks.

Yes, as stated the door panel has to come off. It's very easy from there to replace.  The door panel is the pain to get back on with those stupid clips that love to pop out during instalation.

Buy a packet of new door clips before beginning, then they are no big deal to damage or lose etc.

Sorry, I went to move this post in the tech section, didn't bring the other posts along with it.

To answer your question: yes, remove the door panel off the door, and there will be screws retaining the arm rest to the Sport door panel.

Make sure you take your time with a door panel tool, and don't get overly agreessive and it can stress crack the plastic sport door panels.

This shows the two holes for the flat head Phillips screws at the front and back. Make sure replacements from AutoKrafters / Dennis Carpenter Reproductions are short. I've accidently punched a screw through a new armrest years ago using the wrong length screw!
