I figured it might be cool to have an ongoing thread of the first time we saw a potential purchase.
Driving back from lunch this afternoon, passed a bankruptcy attorney's office close to where I work and saw this. Did a U turn and went in to ask who owned it. The owners were in with one of the staff, so I left my name and number asking if it would be for sale. Very original car, hubcaps and all. Red interior. Didn't want to look too snoopy, so I left. Hopefully, it will pan out.

Already posted this in my falcon thread, but this car is a town over and is owned by an old couple, I stopped by and asked, the wife answered and said basically it's up to her husband and she's pretty sure he won't part with it...72 6f fastback, looked like it may have a busted rear glass, other than that, all original. But I have yet to talk to the husband, and maybe using joes advice that he posted in the mustang thread, I think I might be able to get him to part with it.

Bryan, I have 6 rear glasses. Come get one for free if you get this car. As industrious as you are, I would do my part, lol.

Well drove my buddy's freshly restored galaxy a town over where that torino is (john knows that buddy
), still only got the wife's answer. (hayle no!)I makes me sooo mad! She even said that they are NOT going to fix it up! Even though that's probably how I will be when I'm an old fart! Lol. But I still want to talk to the husband the actual owner.....you can barely see the Arcadian blue quarter of the galaxie. ![]() I tried to get a look at the vin, but the sun was waaay too bright. I'm starting to think that they may have put the tarp over it because it may have a rotted roof due to the vynal option. Edited by Grantorinosport351 - 07-June-2014 at 3:25PM |

We didn't line our above ground outdoor pool with that, but a rusty roof would suck. Basically making it a parts car. Shame that's happened to so many of these cars.

It sure is funny how some folks just can't give up their stuff. Some don't even want you looking at it! Learned that the hard way when I took a visit to New Mexico to see my daughter at school. Saw a descent rust free Montego and when I went to look at it I was greeted by a gun holding owner! (scary sh*t) He told me to leave or I would not remain healthy. (This car was parked on the street) So I am a bit more careful now when checking out perspective rides.

Those gun toting people suck. Makes me want to take them out from afar and take their car out of spite.
