Here is my dad's 1970 Torino. I found these photos last week and they were taken in 1972 :) [/quote]

I think they called that a "halo" roof.

Reminds me of a targa top Porsche.

T-tops...one thing the Torinos never got...not like I'd want it, but I can imagine some people would. I mean, what other kind of roofline is perfect for blasting Springsteen?

thats not a halo roof, they have paint all around the edges of the windows.  i've never seen one like that.  the ones i had seen on fastbacks before were similar to a 72 style.

springsteen fan?

Glad you like the pics.  I asked my dad about the top and it was custom made in Montreal the day after the car was purchased.  It was quite unique back then when most of the cars had vinyl roof.  I guess the custom made vinyl roof craftsmanship is long gone :)

Speaking of T-tops and Torinos. I had a crazy thought over summer. Backwoods junk yard over the mountain and I came across a 77-79 T-bird with a t-top roof and thought hmmm.
I may head over in the spring and cut the roof off, you know - just in case.

Been thinking similar idea!
Find one of the FORDS with the T-Tops.
77 and up Birds had them as options. Think that would be the easiest to do... depending on the WIDTH of the roof. Late Model Mustangs(79-92) might work too. Just cut the channel between the panels and widen it out to meet the width requirements.
I am seriously looking at this for my 72.
