I havent seen too many pics of 70-71 torino's on here. Being an owner and so far away from my car, would like to see others standing next to theirs. Just a request, but i havent been able to find an official 70-71 Torino pics thread.

In a nutshell this forum was created to support the 72-76 Ford & Mercury Midsized cars cause we were not accepeted by the earlier year Torino owners so the majority of the members own 72-76 cars.Scott created the 68-69 & 70-71 Technical Sections as we accept our Torino brotheren we just don't have as many active members who own those yrs.If you look you will notice those Tech sections don't contain alot of current active posts. We do have a member Ramair351 who had a 73 Gran Torino Sport which he sold and bought a nice 70-71 Torino Cobra. If you search his screename you might find a thread of his car with the photos. I believe there is also a forum called Torino Cobra or something like that.Your are certainly welcome here we just don't have the masses for those yrs and why you don't see alot of photos

Here's a link to TorinoCobra. Their membership is heavier on the pre 1972 Torino's. Not saying you can't belong to both forums. Many of us here do...me included.http://www.torinocobra.com/forum/index.php?sid=37e67ff30fb399282a2ab783ac4324a6

Sweet cars. Maybe I'm partial, but the folks here on Torino Page are awfully hard to beat. Always open to help out, always considerate, good people.

What Jeff has said is essentially correct. I started the Ford Torino Page, and later this discussion forum, in response to a lack of any Torino support on the web back in the 90's. While I was building this website and forum, Torino Cobra was as well, and it seems we both settled into our particular niches (72-79 here, 70-71 over at Torino Cobra).
But, with that being said, I do try and provide coverage and support for all years of Torinos (and other mid-size Ford & Mercurys). The folks here are really top notch - you just don't find this sort of support at most places. Other websites I have frequented like Fordification, the Ranchero one, etc are all great sites, but the people here is what makes the difference. |

I loved that green car Pete...was sweet, but the gold 429 is awesome.
Agreed, check Torino Cobra's site out. There are some guys on FordMuscle.com's Torino forum, but seems most of us are here or the TorinoCobra forum. |

Here is a car that is in my area it is a 70 GT mostly all original 351 car.In the photo is has the wrong grille but he put the correct grille in it.Next time I go to the Cruise night and he is there I'll get some better photos. he also did a black hood treatment on it which looks really good compared to the all Turquise hood. These photos wwere taken when he first got the car and now he has done some cleaning on it so it looks better.I forgot to take photos of it the other week when I saw him again.

Finially got the Torino road legal, and took it out for it's maiden run Saturday morning. First impression: Very strong motor and trans! Didn't get into her hard yet, but it pulls real well, and the trans has obviously has been worked at least a little, because the shifts are nice and firm. Handles good, goes down the road nice and straight, but the brakes are very touchy. Thinkin it could be a combination of me not being used to them, and the rotors maybe having some surface rust on them from sitting as well. All in all it was a great experience, and I just couldn't quit smiling! Gonna get the Pa. inspection done this Friday, and while she's on the lift, give her a good going over, oil change, grease, etc .Despite the fact that this site is geared predominately toward the post '71 Torinos, you guys have made me welcome here, and that means a lot in my estimation. With all that being said, I thought I'd post some more pics of my '71 500.
