I have a 1971 ford torino. I replaced the starter a few days ago and it started up and worked fine. Yesterday it wouldn't start. The starter solenoid was clicking but sparks were coming from where it connects to the starter. I replaced the solenoid and it no longer sparks but the starter still won't kick on. I've checked all the connections from the battery to the solenoid and from there to the starter. I've cleaned them all and made sure they were tight. I'm out of ideas and realy need my car to work. Willing to try any ideas.

Take the starter off and bench test it or take it back to where you purchased it and have them check it. Autozone and Advanced Auto will check them for free. May have got a bad starter.

^^^todd's probably right.
but also check your ground cable, it usually bolts to the block, also check the ground wire from the engine to the frame/body |
