Anyone recall where the thread on the TKO / manual transmission swap threads went?

I killed my top loader last night. Ouch

Gravel--->dry concrete + high enough rpm = shockload to main output shaft.

Andy, I think that is what you are looking for. Has some links in it to some other off-site tech postings and other information.

Psquare75 also may have some information, he was going down that path I believe.

Sorry to hear that.

hope the drive shaft didn't come free. How big is the output shaft on the toploader? I am very surprised that was the weakest link...

Well considering the driveshaft yoke is sitting at like a 45 degree angle coming out of the tail shaft housing off the Trans. Snapped the output shaft. I've been chatting with a Paul a bit looking at going with the same guy he worked with as he specializes in top loader swaps.

Clutch package is the next debate...

Took a peek this weekend Saturday it was fifty out so nice I looked and fortune smiles on my ass occasionally. Trans not broke. I sheared the ujoint on the front and the shaft looks to be ok. Caps are still in the output yoke. Having my homemade parking brake cable bracket to clear the exhaust saved the driveshaft from dropping on the ground.

Nice. Hope she went to a good home!!

Yes, we are only going to do the last two stops though. I need to order a tire, swap my steering box out with the unit I got from Paul like 2 years ago.
Fix a few minor things so it's just good to go.
