I don't know of anyone who has used the Dart block.  How are the mounts different?

I don’t have a Ford Windsor to compare it to, so going by the 351W mounts I ordered. Left side is 7 on center where it bolts to the engine and right side is 7.25. Dart block has both sides at 7 on center. There is still a offset on the mounting areas on the dart, but I do not know if its close to a factory motor. I knew there would be some difference but was hoping to use the aftermarket mounts with some possible modifications. The best case would get some advice from someone who has used a Dart block.

are you sure you don't have it mixed up? i measured the Cleveland block on a stand and they're 7" c-c both sides, should be the same for all SBF's, Cleveland and Windsor. same mounts. it was possible to swap the mounts side to side because there used to posts all the time lamenting which is which / they don't fit right etc ....

Thanks for checking that block, appreciate it. I thought that as well but unfortunately, I’m at the mercy of parts ordered. Ordered 351W mounts and that’s how they came. Double checked part numbers and they list right and left. Ordered a second right side same thing. I don’t start most parts anymore, but with nothing to compare it to had to throw it out there to find out. I"ll check into Cleavland mounts, maybe better luck.

Ditto, the Dart blocks should have the same mounting locations. Ditto about the mounts you may buy, they two sides are easy to mix up. I had two Cleveland mounts I got from AutoShack in 1980 that were identical, one side was mixed up from the manufacturer. I took them back and fortunately they had another pair. But that also had the same incorrect side mount. The parts are very close in appearance, the offset of the two arms is very close, but it's obvious when you put them on the block itself. I had to have another pair checked at another store, I finally got the correct mount.

So finding the proper mount for each side might still be tough, check them quickly when you receive them.
