Due to a fellow member having issues on his '72, this jogged my memory as I was arranging my new hoses for my new CVF Racing Wraptor belt drive.

Normally hi and low compressor service ports are there for servicing the system off the compressor.

Running the CVF Racing Beast aftermarket belt drive now, I am thinking I'll be OK after reviewing Ford AC procedure manuals for servicing and checking the system however before I commit to hoses being finished:

Can I set the system up like this:
  • Access low side service port off just the POA eliminator on the EVAP case?
  • Or do I need to have the low side service port as close to the compressor?
The high side fitting location is unchanged, but thanks to CVF's angling of the compressor and flipping the Raptor's Sanden compressor to the passenger side, it's cause no end to my joys of swapping from the Beast belt drive.

I really wanted to see the front belt drive system layout re-worked and parts re-angled but I'm not going to try to redesign this system. Already had to rework the belt situation to fix one issue that was glaringly a pain, and CVF to their credit warrantied parts in short order.

Ford manuals show servicing off the original STV valve (now replaced with a POA eliminator for Sanden cycling clutch operation)

Second order of business:
Anyone know where I can get replacement foam for the blend doors for the factory system?
I know I need to replace the foam, and if I have to pull my dash all the way out it's now or never.

Andrew, can you use any foam and be cutting it to fit? I don't know anything about replacement pieces, but I bought a very tough foam in the 2004 range to make a bed once. The foam I used came from a foam distributor here, they had it because of a deal on price, it wasn't a normal product. But it was very tough and I still use it with a foam topper. I might still have a piece of it from spare pieces, I haven't seen them in ages though.

I started looking and there are pretty specific foams needed to handle the swings in cold to hot temps for an Automotive application. I found a few options, main thing is finding the material that's got enough give but will also not degrade.
Not the cheapest stuff, but I am thinking I am going to wing it for the rest of the summer and this fall I will pull the dash out. Already lost a full 1/2 year so far of not using the GTS.
