Greetings! My name is Nick and I live the San Francisco Bay Area. My father-in-law recently passed away and my wife and I inherited his 1970 Torino GT. I don’t know much about the car but have spent the last month combing the internet for knowledge. I have a ton of questions and will start making posts soon!

Welcome aboard!

How roadworthy is it? I run the California Mini-Meet for the Fairlane Club of America, which covers Fairlanes, Torinos, Rancheros, and the Mercury equivalents 1962-1979. This year the show will be the weekend of October 7 in San Luis Obispo, so just a few hours down the 101 freeway. I'd love to see the car there!
1972 Gran Torino station wagon, light blue, 351C 2V, prior owner upgraded to 4V (2V heads), originally had a C4 but prior owner changed to C6 for some reason.

Very road worthy! Although it is going in mid may for complete engine to rear end rebuild but October shouldn’t be an issue. Also have access to a trailer if need be!

My condolences to your family. You are now also part of our family and the members are incredibly knowledgeable and love sharing. Once you are upgraded please post pics of that bad boy and share some details. We love that stuff.

Wondering where a guy drops off an old ford and gets a complete
rebuild front to back in a few months ? And how much does that cost ??
Most the machine shops I know of are a year out at least !!

Welcome to the forum, looking forward to seeing your Torino.

It's a great group of members here, with a lot of knowledge.

Thanks,

Welcome to the forum! Sorry for the loss of your father in law. I have upgraded you to a full member so you have full forum privileges. Post some pics of your Torino and ask away as many questions as you like. Feel free to start a project thread as well.
