I have a 1971 Torino 500 and I'm looking to put some Year One 17" rims Just wanted some feed back on what size tire would look the the best.

It depends on what size wheels you are going to put on your car. What size are on the car now? What kind of look are you going for? Are happy with the diameter of the wheels now? Assuming you have about a 27" tire on the car now, and you are happy with that diameter, if you go with 17x8 wheels, you could run a 255/50R-17 which would give you the same diameter but much lower profile. 245/50R-17's are about 26.6 " tall if you want something a bit shorter.

What Vince said. If you're happy with the overall diameter of your existing 14" or 15" tires, use a tire size calculator to find a 17" tire size close to the same overall diameter. It's called "plus sizing". This will also ensure that your speedo is still accurate. You can also use the calculator if you want some tires that are a little taller than your existing, to fill up the wheel wells a little more. I like to use this calculator on the 1010tires website.
