Hello all,
Now there's no need to pretend I'm a wrench turner. Couldn't pull an engine or fix a transmission and can't learn at 50 something. My crummy health wouldn't let me anyway. Have had Lyme disease for 15 years. My body's going on 95 anyway and my joints are shot. So here's what Id like to know...... Unfortunately early in our marriage we traded my lovely young wife's mint 76 silver Elite with blue vinyl top, split bench, 351w, hand crank windows, etc. That thing ran like a f16 and drove like a Rolls Royce. We loved it and still don't remember why we traded. We bought a crummy little boxy 80something anemic little 4 banger mustang (cant really capitalize it). We hated it and regretted it from the next day. Watched forlornly as the poor Elite stayed local and was eventually beaten to death by some mouth breather and it finally ended up in a flood and was crushed, as were we. More than thirty years later we both still get misty when we think about that car, the opera "twindows", the AM with cassette that we listened to ELO and Journey on..... sorry drifting off to a lost youth..... I'm not a mechanic, don't even need to pretend that I am. But have a brother that is a 35+ year Ford Lincoln Merc line mechanic. So I have resources. Question is guys and gals.......... Are they out there? Are there still any survivors running around that a guy could get hold of and surprise his girl with? Without having to do a complete checkbook resto? Yes, I know its just what everyone else on the planet wants to find. Have to ask. Need to do one more romantic thing for her before Im a goner. Thanks for any advice or leads you could provide. Im glad there's someone out there keeping these alive. Dave |

Welcome Dave, I hope that you can find that car to make both you and your wife happy and bring back those old memories. There are quite a few finds to see here from Dave and others who keep up with listings around the country. Be patient and keep an eye out, and be ready to call and/or drive to go see them.
