I acquired a C4 that was behind a 302 in a '72 Ford truck. Neither were original to the vehicle. I plan on utilizing it in another vehicle but need some advice:
This transmission has a U Joint output shaft. Not the splined version that most all transmissions have, but an exact replica of what leaving the yoke of a driveshaft stuck in the transmission would look like. Any ideas of how to overcome this? Like a moron, I tossed the truck's driveshaft into the truck before I scrapped it. The driveshaft was a long bed version with a carrier bearing and both ends looked like the rear of a normal driveshaft. Before anyone asks, I did try removing the "fake yoke" from the tailshaft of the transmission to make sure it was just not stuck in there, LOL. |
