Removed cowl cut out parts rusted through .Question what to do about the pitted areas not rusted through. Also how the hell do you remove the old windshield gasket when ford wrapped the head liner over the lip then installed the gasket.

Headliner should be glued as well as wrapped. Usually cut the gasket to get the window out, and then peel the rest of the gasket away. A lot of older cars were this way.

cut the outer part so you can lift out the window if you are replacing the gasket with new, if it's good and you are saving it to reuse then slow process to tuck the inner rubber edge up behind the headliner lip (little at a time)

rust pits: sand blast all rust off or acid treat, once there is no rust left the pits can be filled with body filler... i'd recommend a type that is moisture proof like duraglas or allmetal

well regular bondo will absorb moisture, but should be fine when sealed by primer and paint, just thinking better safe than sorry

This is some kind of metal filler.I believe its al.base.usc all metal it called.I only have 18 gauge and 22 gauge. one to thin I think other to thick to work with. There needs to be a hump in the cowl to fit the wiper motor.

J.B. Weld is waterproof and fills these nicely.
