I'm figuring someone has had to fix the Z bar where the clutch rod pivot slots out the hole. I'm assuming weld it and drill it. The problem is I can't find one that looks like the one for the car. The only one I could find at Autokrafters doesn't have the snout that this one does and only appears to be held on with a cotter pin (?). Anyone have any input on this? I'm determined to hear this car under power this year so I'm trying to wade through these details before it warms up. |

welded mine up decades ago & moved the hole a little for more leverage, not sure if it was a good idea or not but it worked. now I'm in the (long) process of pulling it out of storage & reworking it again, the weld up is fine but I'd like to fit a centered clevis rather than the side riding fitting thing
yeah, if it doesn't happen this year I quit |

I sent him a message. It was a good write up but I wasn't sure how he reattached the original pivot.
I guess I'm going to have to have a look up under the dash and see how the pedal bracket looks. Edited by lynchster - 13-April-2016 at 5:50PM |

i think he welded it?
the bronze bushing thing is a good idea! i recently had to do something very similar to that to repair my metal bandsaw, bored out the blade wheel and pressed in a pair of automotive clutch pilot bushings then remachined the inside of the bronze bushings, works awesome now! it was running cast iron on steel dry for the last 25 years!!! it should outlast me now |

I looked at a couple air brake parts on ebay, 5/8" & 1/2" threads are a little on the big side I said 'centered' but what may be needed is actually an offset clevis, something like this would be perfect if the side threaded hole went all the way through for extra push rod length |
