Hello to all,

I'm not actually a Torino owner yet but I figured I would join and learn something.

My favorite is the 73 Sports roof, but I also like the 74-76 Cougar.

I'd appreciate any buying tips.

Thanks,
Joe

Good luck in your hunt!
BIGGEST thing to look out for is RUST/ROT!
Be extra picky with that, we have seen some seriously rotted out junk that someone shoveled mudd on, painted and sold as pristine only to have it all crack and fall off a few months later leaving you with JUNK!

Thanks!

You aren't kidding about the rot. I just looked at a 73 sports roof last week that was local on Craigslist and was described as "...a California car with a solid body no rust". It had holes in the front of both quarter panels, the front of the passenger door, and one of the fenders; both doors were split open along the bottom and the floors were patched on both sides with what looked like a series of the fine thread drywall screws for metal studs.

I was still kind of bummed to have to pass on it because it's the only one that's been posted within a hundred miles in the last six months.

Incidentally, is there anything else I need to do to "get legal" in the forums? I tried posting in the eBay/Classifieds but it looks like it's still invisible.

Thanks again,
Joe
