Here's a photo of John Julicher and his 1972 street stock Gran Torino. They won the 1979 street stock Championship that year at Lancaster Speedway (in Lancaster NY). They were the only team that drove a Ford with a 351 Cleveland motor because not only were they faster than their counterpart GM's but the tech's didn't know what they were doing to the engines because they weren't familiar with the Ford engines. Eventually they went to the SBC engines and a GM body because the Cleveland motors were too scarce to use for racing. John was a good friend of mine and he went on to race in the late model class where he won more championships than any other driver in the track's history. He passed away almost three years ago. I own his 1973 Gran Torino Sport.

Just a little nostalgia to brighten your day.

Wally

Very cool. I have a coworker that just before I started at the PO, he raced a 72 Gran Torino on some kind of dirt track in the area. That was before 1991, time flies of course.
