Looking to put a scoop on this thing. I tried twice to make my own out of sheet steel, but was never happy with it. I'd like to be able to drive the thing worry free in the rain or just be able to park it outside in the rain. Anyone know of some scoop styles that will look good? Preferably bolt on or bond on scoops.

Are there any reproductions of the late 60's hood scoops? Those were great looking and many could cover that hole size you have there.

looks like you're wanting one for filter clearance? and some style but no water getting in???? if you have any yards near by with older cars i'd suggest a factory bolt on scoop from a 79 mustang?

those factory scoops like i posted a pic of are about 24" x 25" and like 1 1/2- 2" tall
IIRC they were on 79-82 mustangs i used to see them alot at yards and swapmeets years ago... if you can't find an original there is a guy in canada that makes handlaid reproductions of those ... |

Maybe a 69-70 Boss 429 or Cougar Eliminator scoop? They're available aftermarket.
I think the Mach 1 scoop might be a little small.
Like John mentioned, maybe the 79-82 Mustang scoop. Maybe available aftermarket? There was a scoop exclusive to 83 Mustang GTs, but they're hard to find. It faced backwards, like a cowl induction scoop. But, could probably be turned either direction. Or, keep an eye out for a 70-71 Torino GT hood. |

I am worried however, the ridges in the hood may cause some headache when putting this on...

i think the angular nose of the 71 would lend itself well to the 72 GT frankenhood treatment, it would look like a stock 71 hood on steroids |
