Good evening --

I live in Ridgecrest, Calif., and recently picked up a light blue 1972 Gran Torino wagon. It has a 351C-2V that a prior owner upgraded to a 4V intake and carb (I put a new Holley 600CFM on it). The basic Marti report said it came with a C4, but the L-shaped transmission pan says it has a C6 on it now. Car had quite a bit of patina, but I'm finding that the Rust-Oleum "peaceful blue" is a close enough match.

The idea is to use it to tow the 1962 Fairlane to shows since I'm getting too old now, I live in a very hot area, and if I drive the Fairlane for 6 hours to Fairlane Club of America shows out here, my back is drenched with sweat (no A/C). The Gran Torino is a factory AC car. Gran Torinos up to 1976 are also covered in that club, so I could enter both cars into the show. We'll see if this ever comes to fruition, though.

I have a picture of the car when I first got it home, but I need to get a more recent shot to post here.

Thanks for having me around.

Welcome!  Sorry for the delay. I have upgraded you to a full member so you have full forum privileges and will be able to post pics. Let's see the wagon and the Fairlane. That would be a really cool combo going down the road.

Here's the '62 Fairlane during the Fairlane Club of America's national meet this past June.
