Wondering if anyone has ever used a 2 piece timing cover on a recent rebuild 351c-351m 400 ? Dont know how many times a person would be in the timing chain cavity to warrant a two piece but it would sure be nice not to have to mess with the oil pan again .
If anyone has any plus or minuses they can add please do so .
Thanks

It would always be nice to not have to mess with the oil pan for a timing cover, that's not a well though out design. I hate to ask how much one would cost now, what's the one you are looking at?

Speedmaster is the company name , they make a one piece and a two piece . 80-90 dollars or so for them . I don’t know why I would need to open up a new motor for any reason , but boy if you had to, 😬,it could be done in chassis from just the front with a 2 piece design.  I’ve tried to find some reviews on the 2 piece to see if there are any inherent issues with sealing at the water pump , or any thing else negative but not much out there so far .

I'll look into that when I get to my two Cleveland builds. Thanks, that price sounds reasonable for a fairly simple timing cover design.
