Hey all, the time is near to throw my rebuilt 351C 4V into my Torino.  Car came stock with a 250 I6 and a C4 automatic.  My research shows that it probably has a 157 tooth flexplate and that the V8s would have come with a 164, so I'm not sure if this is a simple bolt-together or not.  Is the C4 worth keeping and possibly modifying, or should I explore other options?  I'm not against a C6 or something like that, but my headers are allegedly for a C4 trans.

157 tooth and a 351 leaves just barely not enough room for the stock starter.

you can use a smaller 'mini-starter' but that requires some wiring changes

also consider that your I6 C4 is not the same internally as a V8 C4, smaller clutch packs in the drums and probably fewer planet gears in the planetary gear sets
