Hello forum. Are rear sway bar link kits available for 72/GTS competition suspension? The stud/bolt snapped off on one side…rusty!

They are not available new. You will either have to repair the existing, fabricate a new one or source a decent used one. Or alternatively, you can order a new Addco rear sway bar which comes with it's own hardware (not interchangeable with stock Ford parts). This is your most expensive option, but you will also get a larger rear sway bar.

How big is their rear bar Vince? I have a front one that they made for me one size larger than OEM, they might still do that, custom make one a larger size.

There is a thread on fabbing that link. I went with the Adco on mine but the link looks better than the Adco hardware.

It's in the how-to section:
If you decide to go with the Addco bar, reuse the axle brackets if they are salvageable. They bar is good but there hardware could be better.

The above Lexus links are slightly longer than the originals. How much, if any, of a problem would this be?

For the price of a solid part which is close to what you need, and OEM are obsolete, I might get them and have them shortened by a local shop.

Better yet, is it more feasible and possible to replace the stock bushings, and repair any damage of the end link itself? I haven't looked at mine, I only know what they look like from pictures on the forum.

I bought the above Lexus set to test.
What are the measurements of the originals? Length, width..etc? I have compared pictures of the original and this Lexus link..they look very, very similar in size….. Bushing-wise…..I will look around….or improvise👍😂

Energy Suspension is the standard for urethane bushings, check with them if you don't want to use rubber.

What bushings did you fellas use for the sway bar eye?
Energy Suspension 9-8141? How do you mount it? Do you cut the bushing in half? My car is in the shop…..what does the sway bar eye look like? Please post a picture…thanks.

I decided to buy the Addco 938 kit. Seems like a good upgrade.
Not OE setup….but eminently acceptable I think. The original links were in poor condition. One broken. I will keep them.

i have the addco on mine, i'd recommend using you oem axle brackets and bolt the addco to them as they won't twist on the axle! the addco stuff is just a big "U" bolt or once its mounted where you want it tack weld the clamp ends to the axel tube so they cant rotate on you

Great info. The original sway bar axle mounts will come off today. They are a bit crusty. I will clean them up and see if they are reusable.
