Hello Torino members,
A couple of months ago i bought a 1972 Ford Torino 4 doors. It has a common 302 ci ford motor. When i looked under the car and saw that there where drops of fluid lying under the car. The drops where red what indicated that it was transmission fluid. The drops came from the gear lever at the left side, i think its the gear lever but i dont know for sure?
Has anyone had this problem and how did you solve that?
i am sorry for any spellingerrors.
greetings from Holland

it's pretty simple, you just have to drop off the pan, valve body, unbolt th shifter lever, you pull it from the outside and change the seal, it takes 30 minutes

it could also be the kickdown shaft leaking, it doesn't require dropping the pan
the kickdown shaft fits through the selector shaft and is sealed with an O ring (or two) behind the arm that the nut holds on
C4 trans?

Thank you very much for the info. I am going to look arround voor the o-ring ore a seal. The parts are not so easy to find here in the Netherlands. Is there anyone that has specs ore technical drawings (don't know the right word) ford a ford 302 v8 5.0 liter block and the c4 tranmission? thank you very much!
greetings!!

here's one but it doesn't give great detail of the selector shaft seal
the one labeled lever seal is the O ring that i mentioned. it's just a common O ring that can be matched up by size. the selector shaft is a 'metal clad seal', # 36072 here,
