I got some clutch pedals out of a 72 gts and it has a switch with a chain that goes from the clutch pedal to the fire wall then to the brake pedal. I was wondering if it is factory or not.

thank you
Steve

I'd have to look at my set up again but I don't recall that set up under my dash.

Only switch on on a clutch pedal set would be for the brake light switch for the brake pedal.
No "chain" only would have the metal clutch rod that connects to the Z bar on the frame/trans bell house.

I am thinking of one possibility. I know certain clutches, with this pedal set, you could have the clutch pedal slam to the floor.
Think it was guys having issues with Centerforce diaphram type clutches.
Maybe someone was having this issue and decided to fix it white trash style?

do you know if the car the pedals came from had dealer add on speed control?may be a disconnect for the cruise? IE.clutch pedal movement activating brake lamp circuit to disable it?

Tighten it down until it snaps and then back it off a half turn!

I'm not aware of any 4 speed cars having CC on them.
The cruise cut off is based off the brake light switch.

See, Now I am curious what the hell that chain is on there for...

There have been do-it-yourself cruise systems available for many years. That could explain the chain......or not.

I could see it being after market cruise control. that would explain the way the switch was clamped to the clutch pedal and chained to the brake pedal.

thanks guys
