Just installed my grant wheel.Model 966 I believe.Only trouble was spring is too small or to big.Oh ya if you decide to get one first get paint to match your column. The black looks kinda not right.

I had problems with the horn button spring too, Ended up having to grind the steering shaft down a tad so the horn button could fully snap into place and function correctly. Kind of fun when that bugger snaps itself off in the middle of the night and you are woken up to a horn blowing.. Also had to drop the seat lower as the wheel was blocking my view of the speedo and tach.
Get some decent paint and do up the allen screws on it right away, The factory finish rusts within a year on those. Edited by Robbdtme - 31-May-2014 at 10:40AM |

Ya just happen while we were at church. Neighbor came over and disconnected the wire. What allen screws. I think I will glue the spring to the horn button. You are suppose to hook the spring over the shaft. Its to big.

Had one in my 78 LTD II. Never could get the horn to work and the position did block viewing the speedo.
I've liked the Ford sport steering wheel much better ever since....

Fordpower, hope this helps. I installed a Grant wheel on my '74 Ranchero & used this Superior horn kit #86-5730. I didn't have any of the issues you're having. P.S. THE# MAY BE OBSOLETE BY NOW. Brian
