I am working on the B pillar on our 1972 Torpedo. This car used to have a vinyl roof. We removed the vinyl roof during our last restoration in 1993. At that time, I removed the factory Bondo in the A and B pillars and replaced it with epoxy putty. Unfortunately, the epoxy putty cracked. I have cleaned out the epoxy putty. I am not sure what to do at this point. In these pictures, I am trying to use lead in the B pillar. However, it is not going very well. I think at this point I would like to try something else. I am just not sure what to do. I do not want the joint to crack again. Have any of you worked on the A and B pillars before? If so, what did you do? Did you use lead? Or something else? If you did something else then lead - did it crack?

I am assuming you mean a 1972 Torino? CaliforniaJohnny is our resident restoration expert. Maybe he will chime in, if not try sending him a PM. I know this has been discussed on the forum in the past as well. |
