OK,...so I'm down here in N. Carolina picking up this great deal
that I just couldn't pass on. I know I already have 2 projects and don't need another......but this really is way too good to pass up. You be the judge.......1979 Ranchero totally rust free. Newer paint suspension, body mounts, brakes, windshield, gas tank, 4:10 gears so on, so on. Seller bought it fot the motor and trans. Guess what I'm puting in it? Yep.......429 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() _________________ |

Heh, that car was on the 460ford.com forum. Nice to see it's getting built nicely!

Yeah, that's a good deal alright! Shame about the front bumper, but the paint looks great!

Doesn't that paint kinda rub off on your fingers if you touch it.

I don't know. It seems kinda fine to me. Ofcourse I'm
not going to go rub it to find out either. But I think it's
o.k.

Good idea on the re-chroming of the dash emblem! I take it that's a bit better than the Krylon chrome, which is a non-metallic silver at best :).
I used Bare Metal Foil, like what is used on model cars, for my door trim restoration. It'd work well for emblems, too, if you ever get one that's too hard to do with paint.

Post some pics of the Bare Metal! How does that hold up. I did the dash vents in my truck with it, and it was awful. |
