So did the original rails for the front seat fit back in place or did you have to modify the rails to make the original seat fit?

you need to re- install the seat-rail supports that go across the top of the floorpan.

Just wanted to throw in some more evidence of this working, if that's okay with you guys. It took a long time because of the base Auto Hobby shop only being open two days a week, but I threw both sides of '66 Mustang floorpans in my '73 Torino. ![]() After: ![]() |

Might as well jump on the bandwagon and second that…however I used 71-73 as they don’t have the holes for the seats to bolt through so one less thing to weld up or plug
![]() ![]() ![]() Full left and right pans were used which basically dropped straight in and then stitched into the footwell |

Thanks for these pics. I might have ordered those ridiculous Torino patch panels sold everywhere but this seems much better.

just an update on the pans...originally got a set of coupe/fastback and a set of convertible as they're slightly different...Chopper test fitted both and went with the convertible as they fitted better...

This is very cool!
Made me wonder if maybe the '79 and up LTD/Crown Vic floors would work as well?

Fortunately for me, I live in rust-free AZ. I never knew what this meant until I relocated from SLC. Its a world where rubber and plastic disintegrate, but steel remains unchanged. I could probably supply a rust free car that someone could then experiment with!

I cannot find anyone here local for work or advice, so may have to get a friend to just dive in and help eventually. I have the pans but where do you find the seat floor supports? Or were they fabricated? Only can find one website and it's a non secure one, so looks like a no no. Thanks!

Chopper fabricated a hybrid seat brace from factory (over the drive tunnel) and new as I’m using 69 Mach 1 seats…you can use the factory brace you just have to set the pans to the lower height of the brace…
