Hotchkiss put the arms into production but only list them fitting Galaxies despite the fact the upper arms are the same part number as early1972 Torinos. No one as of yet has tried them to my knowledge. They are very pricey.

For control arms you have to match the ball joint basically, top and bottom. The spindles are made for certain wheel bearings so obviously only some rotors can work. I hunted for a bigger rotor in the early 80's, and I missed the later 70's choices. I ended up with a 71 Lincoln spindle and rotor, about that 11.75" size, but has a 5x5" bolt circle. I had slot mags back then which have slotted lug nut holes, worked on both ends. But that wasn't a good idea, I'd been looking for a way to undo that since.

I doubt those brakes would work. I have all the parts and size and what other cars it interchanges with in this thread:
For those interested, all the suspension parts and what they interchange with are in this thread: |

Thanks Vince, I recall reading a brake thread years ago, that one will help me. I like brake upgrades, and if the parts aren't bad, I do it if I can.

![]() We used to swap in Torino Knee assemblies (upper, lower, and spindle) to add disc brakes to the 65-68 era galaxies. Hotchkis a-arms and lowers should fit just fine in a Torino. Don't know if Hotchkis is using standard balljoints or some goofball balljoint and spindles, because when i saw the price on them i lost interest.

I think the Hotchkis arms come with shafts, bushings and ball joint.
That could be some of the price difference.

Just had my little shop upper control arms, all bushings, ball joints, springs, shocks, and steering linkage replaced on my 75 Gran Torino. It drives and handles better than when it was new! |

Hey fellas, are these our only option for direct bolt-in tubular upper control arms?
They look very nice, however, $600 for a pair is considerable.

That is probably typical, the cost for late model Ford SUV UCA's is in that $600+ range also. There are a pair I want for my Explorer, the BTF arms are the standard for those. edit, crap, they are now $699 a pair.
