Is it an cable adjusted mirror or manually adjustable (by hand)?  Is it a sport mirror or chrome mirror?

I haven't repaired one, but I'm currently trying to. Could have some insight - what's the issue?

If you feel increasing resistance in all directions try moving the mirror manually and if the resistance feels the same I would guess the cables are jammed from not being used in a while. If the mirror moves keep an eye on the adjusting knob and see if it moves a bit. Just don't go crazy and snap anything.
I have an extra drivers side sport mirror but the knob is broken off and the cables would be way too short.

To pile onto handsofstone's suggestion, I hosed the interior of the housing out with wd-40. I'm not sure it helped, but mine were completely frozen from disuse and I was able to gradually wiggle them back into service.

I can confirm that the ebay one matches my 1977 sport mirror (same color!) but it's driver's side. I can also confirm that at that price I'll be JB Welding mine back together instead of replacing, jeez.

Haha I didn’t set the price.

JB Weld works great for a lot of fixes!

The base doesn’t look right to me.  You sure that’s got a torino?  Just cuz the title says it is, doesn’t mean it is.......

they weren't meant to be taken apart, it can be done but its a pain! to swap the guts you'd have to remove the 3 cables from the controller end as they need to fit through the hole in the mirror base then be reassembled. i did mike's mirrors but i wouldn't wish that on even my worst enemyConfused
