So whats everyones 2 cents on new head gaskets , The motor has a rebuild on it but just a little better then stock , not a compression monster or anything like that ,  I will be getting ready to buy new ones i have used Fel Pro on other motors never had problems but i think the one that blew out are Fel pro . I am looking at Felpro 8347pt1 or Victor-reinz 3502SG , I have been reading that the V-reinz uses their nitroseal
material (graphite on a steel core). No sealer or re-torque required.
Has anyone used both ?

I've not used the Victor gasket but the Fel-Pro 8347's are outstanding, they're also listed as not needing re-TQ but come on they're not magic ...
and I use a very light spray of Copper sealant just because

how long has it been since the rebuild / new gaskets?

I would seriously check the flatness of the heads & block, the Fel-Pro's being composite construction should be able to cure up to .003" total out of flat IIRC

this is a good mod for any street Cleveland, just a tiny bit of coolant flow in that spot to keep things under control

i prefer the fel pro perma-torque blue like in the above pic! i've used victor gaskets on some engines they are ok but not as good as the fel pro. yes check the surface for flatness! yes any more than .003 should be resurfaced! (and not with a belt sander type machine Thumbs Down

Yes for Perma-Torque blue!
You got to use a BELT SANDER??? I had to re-surface my heads by rubbing them on the concrete sidewalk! In the middle of winter!
